Our firm was appointed by the ship-owning company and the P&I Club of the cargo ship which was charged with a felony for exceeding the load lines by 20 cm which correspond to 628 tons of extra cargo and we were instructed for the defense of the master and chief officer who were being held in custody after being arrested on 24.11.2023 with the vessel's arrival at the port of Thessaloniki. After the completion of the defense pleas of the two crew members and the submission of defense plea memoranda, we succeeded in having both crew members released without restrictive conditions and with the completion of the administrative process the ship was allowed to sail on 28.11.2023, something which is a remarkable success given the complex and difficult to prove facts of the case.
